About This Role
The Senior Healthcare Consultant serves as an advisor and task lead supporting large-scale federal healthcare initiatives. This role requires a blend of management consulting rigor and specialized knowledge of Veterans Health Administration (VHA) programs and initiatives to lead complex workstreams, manage senior-level client relationships, and drive the implementation of high-priority health solutions.
You will navigate federal acquisition processes, manage quality standards to support “Exceptional” performance ratings, and deliver results in an agile, mission-driven environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead programmatic support for diverse healthcare programs, using industry-standard and Agile methodologies to guide project lifecycles from discovery through enterprise-scale implementation.
- Support executive-level engagements and develop supporting materials, including comprehensive whitepapers, briefing decks, and formal responses to government inquiries.
- Manage relationships among government program offices, external organizations, and private-sector partners; lead the negotiation and tracking of formal collaboration agreements, including MOUs and CRADAs.
- Advise clients on project coordination, market research, and procurement facilitation; oversee Quality Management Plans and RAID logs to mitigate operational risks.
- Develop and manage project tracking and reporting using Smartsheet, Salesforce, Monday.com, and other platforms, giving government leads real-time visibility into program status.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of management consulting experience, with significant focus on federal healthcare agencies and direct experience supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, or Ph.D.) in Health Policy, Business, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree and additional years of experience may be substituted.
- PMP certification is highly encouraged; Agile (ACP) or Prosci Change Management certification is highly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, Salesforce, Smartsheet, and Power BI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level briefings, reports, and strategic communications products.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and visualization for program evaluation and decision support.
Clearance & Citizenship
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be eligible for a VA background investigation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge and VA email account.
Work Location
Remote, with periodic on-site support at VA facilities as required. Travel to VA Medical Centers, VISN offices, and event locations may be required—estimated at 10–20% depending on project assignments. Candidates in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area are preferred.
